Alpen Capital has successfully raised a USD 15 million term facility for National Bank of Commerce (NBC), a leading commercial bank in Tanzania. The facility was provided by the British International Investment, UK’s development finance institution and impact investor, to support long term economic growth across the country. Alpen is currently working with NBC to arrange additional foreign and local currency facilities.
The five-year US dollar term facility will support NBC’s lending to Tanzania’s priority sectors, expanding access to finance for MSMEs, women-led businesses, and businesses across agricultural value chains.
