Alpen Capital has advised Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited, India`s largest asset financing company, in raising a USD 100 million 5-year facility from Asian Development Bank.

The proceeds of this facility will be utilized as follows:

  • Purchase of lower emission commercial vehicles with minimum emission standard of BS* IV by MSMEs in the transport and logistics sector
  • To finance vehicles that meet the highest emission standard of BS*-VI
  • To provide loans in lagging states of India and to women borrowers or co-borrowers

*BS standards - Bharat stage emission standards are emission norms introduced by the Indian government. These norms aim to regulate output of air pollutants and strive for cleaner emission
